David CareyDavid Carey, Managing Director – Investments, is a founding member of The Peregrine Private Client Group of Oppenheimer & Co. Inc. With more than 35 years of experience, Dave provides wealth management services to entrepreneurs, corporate executives, affluent families, charitable organizations, and professional advisors.

He specializes in asset allocation, professional money management, and alternative investments for qualified investors. Dave leads a team of seasoned professionals committed to delivering objective guidance and exceptional service.

He is a member of Oppenheimer’s Chairman’s Council (recognizing the firm’s Top 40 Financial Advisors) and serves on the President’s Advisory Council of Oppenheimer Asset Management, Inc. He also serves on FINRA’s NYSE Hearing Board, is a Trustee of the Compassionate Friends Foundation, and is a past Trustee of the Drew School. Dave has been named a Best‑In‑State Wealth Advisor by Forbes/Shook from 2019–2024.

John BlauJohn Blau is a Partner at Alkeon Capital Management, where he leads business development and communicates the firm’s strategic insights to partners. Based in San Francisco, John has been associated with Alkeon since its inception and was a day‑one investor.

Before joining Alkeon, John worked at Oppenheimer & Co., beginning his career in New York as a financial advisor and later taking on roles of increasing responsibility in the firm’s asset management department.

John lives in Mill Valley with his wife of thirty years and enjoys trail running and skiing with his two adult sons.

The Financial Forum, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, is dedicated to educating its members on estate planning, wealth management, insurance, real estate, elder abuse, fraud, identity theft, and other financial topics.
