George NocetiThe Financial Forum welcomes George M. Noceti, CRPS®, MBA, MA, Senior Vice President and Family Wealth Advisor with Morgan Stanley, to the Fireside Room at Gateway Clubhouse on Tuesday, October 27 at 3:00 PM.

2026 Political and Midterm Election Update: From Washington to Wall Street

Rather than focusing on political personalities or partisan debate, George Noceti will explore a question of particular importance to investors:

What could the outcome of the 2026 elections actually mean for the economy, financial markets—and your money?

The program begins with a review of the first two years of the Trump administration and the policies shaping its agenda, including economic growth, tax policy, tariffs, immigration, energy, government reform, artificial intelligence, and cryptocurrency.

Noceti will then examine the evolving relationship among the White House, Congress, and the Supreme Court. With narrow congressional majorities, extensive use of executive orders, and more major policy questions reaching the courts, the balance of power among the three branches has become a central part of today’s political and economic landscape.

A key portion of the presentation will focus on tax and trade policy, including changes affecting individual tax rates, the standard deduction, estate and gift taxes, business incentives, charitable deductions, and the state and local tax deduction. The continuing debate over federal deficits and the national debt will also be addressed.

Tariffs and America’s changing approach to global trade will be explored as well—particularly efforts to encourage domestic manufacturing, generate revenue, strengthen national security, and use trade policy as a negotiating tool.

With every seat in the House of Representatives and a critical group of Senate seats on the ballot, Noceti will highlight the races and issues most likely to determine control of Congress, the historical tendency of midterm elections to favor the party out of power, and the structural advantages and challenges facing both Republicans and Democrats.

History offers an important reminder: politics often dominate the headlines, but markets do not always behave the way voters—or investors—expect. Noceti will examine the historical relationship between midterm elections, divided government, and stock‑market performance, emphasizing that history provides perspective—not a prediction of future returns.

The objective is not to tell anyone how to vote. It is to help investors understand what they should be watching.

George Noceti has spent several decades advising affluent individuals and families on financial and retirement planning. He has taught in the Personal Financial Planning Program at the University of California, Berkeley, where he received the Tim Kochis Award for Teaching Excellence.

He and The Integra Group at Morgan Stanley have presented hundreds of educational programs on financial and retirement‑planning topics, and Noceti is a frequent financial commentator on ABC 7, KTVU FOX 2, KRON 4, and KCBS Radio.
